Erin sat bolt upright in a cold sweat. She looked about her trying to reconise her surroudings. Then it all hit her like a ton of bricks. Her whole family was dead , and her only look in life was revenge, she felt a pit of sorrow open in her chest and felt as if the ground ad fallen from beneath her.
She sighed, at least with revenge she may feel better and with the egg. So much more when it hatched. Erin reached into the saddle bag and she felt the smooth surface of the egg on her fingertips.
SHe crossed her legs and rested the egg on her legs and examined its surface, the veins pulsing around it. Erin closed her eyes and touched her mind to the dragon within to see if she could sence it. She felt a strong presence isoltate itself from her.Erin took her mind from it but didn't open her eyes.
Erin thought she had imagined it, but the second time round she felt it a knew it was the egg. Erin's dark silver eyes opened and this time she actually saw the egg move on her lap. The hairs on the back of Erin's neck prickled and she gently nudged Cien to try wake her. Disbelief rained on Erin as she wtached the eggs movements with curious eyes. Erin heard the sharp thuds coming from the egg and she saw a shadow of movement inside and watched as a crack formed and began to spread like a spiders web over the once smooth surface.....

Cien eyes flew open when she felt the nudge. Even though her body ached with fatigue she forced herself up immediately. The words "What's wrong" were on the tip of her tongue when she saw the egg on Erin's lap.
The dragon egg was hatching. And out of it would come a live... dragon.
Involuntarily, Cien pulled back. She knew that dragons were not to be messed with at all costs. It would only be a hatchling, but still...
"Erin," she said with a strong current of urgency in her voice, "Erin, be careful!"

Erin felt a slight painic rise in her, The dragon climbed all the way out of its egg and the stunning near black silver wings spread and fluttered. Erin backed away and kepts backing off as the dragon followed. She stood up and walked outside and was immedieatley bathed in the silver moonlight. The hatchling stumbled out of the tent and followed Erin and it tripped on itsunstable legs. Erin gasped and leant next to it and she heard a perculiar sound that she guessed was a whimper. She reached out to it and the dragon lifted its head and as Erins heand touched its head a roar of flaming ice gushed up Erin's arm and spread through her, the pain sending her to her knees and making her release a wild cry of pain. She curled up and let the pain die....
She was still panting when she moved again , she slowly sat up and the world aroudn her tilted sickeningly , she went to rub her eyes but somthing on her right hand made her stop and stare. On the palm of her right hand was a silver mark that looked like a pool of melted silver on her skin, it glowed lowly and itched slightly...Erin looked past her hand to the dragon who had curled up next to her and she gasped........and whispered.. ''' Gedway ingasia...''....

Erin's cry pierced through Cien's mind. She rushed out of the tent after her, only a few mmoments after Erin had stumbled out, yet it seemed like aeons had passed. Erin was holding out her hand, with a strange mark on it and whispered something that Cien couldn't hear.
Cien wanted to help her, but somehow she was frozen on the spot.

Erin was in shock. The air had cuaght in her lungs and her eternally deep silver eyes were gazing upon the silver mark on her skin in wild wonder. After a few minuetes Erin looked up to Cien and stuttered '' It.....It's the geways ingasia..'' and hse hed her palm up. A grin appeared on Erin's features and she gave a nervous laugh '' ...but...only riders ..have...''' she stopped and looked down to the silver dragon which was now nuzzling her size. Erin jumped to her feet and backed away from the dragon stumbling slightly. It trotted after her and its pentrating blue eye's looked up to her. Its jaws parted revealing rows of tiny sharp teeth. I needing squeak came from its vocals and Erin looked up to Cien.
''Am I...? '' she asked dazed...

Cien silently stared at Erin's palm. From a distance, it looked like a reflection of moonlight in her palm, from here...
Glancing at the dragon warily, she wondered what they were going to do next. Feed it?
But that wasn't the problem at hand. Looking at Erin, she smiled faintly. "It seems you are a rider."

Erin shuddered slightly as the wind carried a cold chill to the bare skin on her neck. She watched the silver dragons attachment to her and a forced grin appeared on her features. '' heh.....so I am '' she said weakly. Erin forced herself to her feet and walked to the tent. Erin pulled a few sliced of dried deer meat from her pack then walked back outside. Putting it on her palm and holding it flat she temped the dragon towards her, it came closer and snapped the meat from her hand. Coming closer every time until it allowed Erin to pet it, it was quite timid.Erin then gently picked up the dragon. It fluttered its little wings slightly but was content to be carried by her.
''Wow ''Erin spoke breathlessly. She thingyed a brow and looked to Cien. '' ...Wh..what now? '' she asked shivering slightly. She doupted very much she could sleep after this...

Cien pulled herself together forcefully. The hatching of the dragon egg had been the most unexpected incident. Who knew what would happen next. And more importantly...
She looked at Erin. "I think that we may be in really great danger now. Whoever who had this dragon egg must have been waiting for it to hatch, and will no doubt come looking for it. We should start moving again...if you are alright..." she ended her sentence with a concerned look.

Erin; who was distracted by the dragons new game of chewing her boot after jumping from her arms, meerly nodded slightly in responce to the question of her health. Erin tore her gaze from the hatchling and looked up. '' Yes, I suppose the danger is much greater now.'' Walking softly across the ground Erin patted Thor's nose. Thor , the black stallion had walked out to see the commotion. Slightly spooked by the reptilian creature on the ground he needed the reasurrance of Erin's touch.
Now fully recovered Erin spoke '' Yes, I am fine now. Just shining up to this new creature '' she said her gaze flickering to the dragon momentariliy. Erin swiftly walked into the den, and gathered her items in a bundle. As most of it was already in Thor's saddle bags it didn't take long. Erin then poked her head from the tent and spoke '' Shall we stay until morning? I feel we may be better off traveling in the night, as it's cooler. '' A small shiver ran down her spine '' ..much cooler..'''

Cien looked up. It was certainly not the best night to be travelling, the sky was dark with a blurry outline of the moon showing behind a cluster of clouds. She could not pinpoint their direction at all using that method.
Sighing, she went over their options. The first, which was the most tempting to her tired and aching body, would be to go back to sleep until morning. The second would be to get a move now, and go back to sleep after a few long, tiring hours within which they would cross another few miles of the dry, unforgiving desert.
'No contest at all,' she muttered, before turning back to Erin. A smile grew on her tired face. "If it's fine with you, lets go now. We'll probably cover more desert since it's...cooler."
